Well, my remote connection to my home PC is down, and the answering machine is not picking up, so I am sitting here at work thinking about no power to all five of my aquariums. It is at times like these that I ponder about my decision to NOT spend $14x5 on 5 battery operated air pumps. Sitting here at work not able to do a damn thing about it is killing me. Yay. Happy Friday!

im right there with you my 5 tanks have no power at all right now. And PG&E charges a dam arm and a leg and wwe still lose power for hours

That seriously sucks. The last ice storm we had my parents lost power for four days. All of his fish survived, though. However, they're naturals and he didn't have to worry about heating.

what can you do about the temperature? If you have no power in your house. I was thinking of doing a water change since i can still get warm water.

luckily all of my fish survived. I don't know what to do about warming the water. If I had to I would boil some water on my camp stove and mix/add it slowly to the tank. Otherwise, I am out of luck. My water heater is electric (never get an electric water heater, always go gas).

you can always add jugs or bags of hot water to float in your tank.

:)
I suggest that everyone who is worried about power failures get some hydrogen peroxide handy. You can use this to reoxygenate your fish tanks. Just use 1/2 teaspoon per 20 gallons of water.
