So I've seen on YouTube people having these huge tanks with no stand, just on the ground. Do you just put styrofoam underneath? Does the floor have to be level. Please let me know what you guys think.

Depends on the tank an the floor. If it's a 90 or something you should be fine on most floors though it would be an awful setup. Big tanks are custom built usually and will have a structure below that should be true and level.
I can't imagine putting my tanks on the floor unless I just didn't want to look at the fish in the tank at all. I have some fry growing out in a sump on my floor, and it's a pain sitting on the floor to feed 'em.
Thats ridiculous, if you came home pissed from the pub one night, you could stagger through the front door, trip over summat and fall in your tank!!!!! You'd be a you tube legend if the missus happened to film it, hahaha, how funny would that be?
