no success with tankmates... ever?

found this quite sad once i purchased my 7 inch spotted african lungfish from aquascape, im sure he will make a beautiful fish however after his tail continues to grow back (was only halfway regenerated when i got him). but really, no tankmates at all? i guess they just have to be a fish you have passion for, im sure he will make a great addition to the family just seeking other views on the subject.. thanks!

African lungfishes don't play well with other fishes, including their own kind; very few people have had long-term success with keeping them in a community setting. South American lungfish usually work with other fishes; rarely do you get a particularly aggressive one that decides to go on a killing spree one night. Australian lungfish are compatible with pretty much any fishes provided that they don't easily fit in their mouth.

Yea ill second that ^^^ I had this African with two socars i was growing out for a while and suddenly, chomp chomp one then the next. He didnt eat them but he def. left his mark.
