Looks cool, and this guy has a lot of other jars of stuff (mostly freshwater) he's had for a while. Anyone thinks it can/can't work? I had some walstad jars with aquarium plants and snails, but my Xmas moss killed the plants, so I tore down all but two, which are doing fine, with happy snails and moss. Wondering about saltwater.

4 1/2 month update on I think the same jar.

Saltwater pics jars can be done with just a airstone for current and a heater.

Keep in mind that parameters will need to be monitored closely

Yeah but isn't the point of those ecospheres to set and forget? cause they're usually sealed off. Saltwater would work but probably only be worthwhile if you feel like looking through a magnifying glass all the time, or maybe not. What do I know?

Yeah once you seal it off, you couldn’t put an air stone. And in the event you did put an air stone, now you have to worry about evaporation and topping off with freshwater.

Lol you can't really seal off the pico jars, also note these jars are usually LARGE jars of several gallons

I’ve never seen a jar more than about 2 gallons, any links to jars 5 gallons or more? I’d love to use them for experiments.
