Hi everyone,

I have a 10" male Red Texas hybrid who is under the weather. For several months, he has had small red nodules hanging from the roof of his mouth. It looks almost like three uvulas, each about the size of a pea, and you can only see them when he opens his mouth wide-- they're about halfway back in his mouth. It doesn't seem to affect his ability to eat at all, but just in the last few days he's gotten very pale in color and looks a little depressed. Water quality is great with nitrates never over 20 ppm, and weekly 50% water changes.

Does this sound like any common ailments that affect cichlids? The nodules have been around for a long time but I worry they might be progressing to something worse given his pale color.

Edit: I meant to add, I always keep 1 tbsp. per 5 gallons of aquarium salt in his 90g tank. He's housed alone so I don't think he could have picked up anything from any other fish.
