Hey everyone,

I am having problems trying to get my fx5 to stop making a water swooshing noise. I have had the filter for about a month now and can't seem to make the noise go away for good. Sometimes the noise will go away on its own but it comes back from time to time. I have checked all the connections and made sure I added the correct amount of water before starting it up. I can usually make the noise temporarily go away by tilting the filter but it will come back eventually. Could it be caused by the filter not being exactly level? I think it might be slightly uneven but its hard to make it even in my situation. I have a little bit of slack on the intake hose as well but I don't think it's enough to cause this problem. Any suggestions?

are you using pads in the bottom of the filter's baskets? if so, they might be clogged and are reducing your water flow. i'm not meaning the white pads that wrap around the filter's baskets.

No I have matrix in all e trays and a thin piece of 20ppi foam at the bottom of each tray to keep the matrix from falling through the trays but the filter was making the same sounds before I added the foam.

sounds like it's got air in it

Ya I'm thinking air got into it but I don't know where or how it got in. I have checked all of the connections and they all seem to be good.

make shore the intake tube is completely submerge.unhook the quick dis connect
have a bucket ready an open the hose so water completely runs through the hose{other words release all the trapped air in both hose} then it shoud b find i had the same problem.turn it off first.
