The filter is making a lot of noise in comparison to how much noise it was making before. I do not want this noise. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? Thanks

First off, that's one sweet machine in your avatar.

Has it been running for a while?

Mine is silent...I mean silent, especially when compared to my HOB filters, so what I'm thinking is you may have something in the prop. Try setting up a hose to the purge valve on the bottom and flush it out that way...it may just be some debris that is caught.

Ok. Will try that. Thanks! I wish I owned that car. 1972 Chevy Nova SS. I'm saving for one. I have ten grand. I need another 15 grand.

try tilting it on its side to see if you have air trapped in there and also make sure the cover is on tightly. if the screws are not uniformly tight all the way around you might not have a tight seal either. i have to touch mine to make sure its on sometimes. good luck.

Take it apart including removing the motor from the canister , check the impeller and rinse it well you may have something stuck in there. Its quite simple and easy. It happen to me before and turned out to be a piece of gravel. You could probably service it and change the pads while your at it. Just a suggestion.

I took mine apart and found a tiny piece of gravel in the housing...now it's silent again.......

Sounds like sand ingestion to me. connect a hose to the drain port on the side of the pump housing and then open the valve while its running to see if you clear it that way.(make sure the other end of the hose is outside or in the shower...) if that dosn't work then you might have to drain the canister...remove the motor assembly and clean out the impeller chamber.

I would also recomend raising the intake tube a couple of inches.

i tried doing everything said on this thread. then my friend emptied water out the bottom and now it is silent again. thanks guys!
