Canada, eh.
Hello all, I've just installed my XP3, and have a quick question for you. Should the water just above the very last media basket, or all the way to the top? The reason I ask, It's running pretty noisy (well, compared to my Fluval 304). I have checked for leaks, faulty hose assembly, etc..everything checks out. Water level is just above the final media basket, and there is a constant dripping sound coming from the canister. Reminds me of the sound an HOB makes hitting the water. Any insight, or am I just off my rockers?

The water line is about 1cm lower then the motor housing, I had one xp4 do this also....I would have to turn off/on a few times, and shake the filter a bit...

Not sure what causes it, sounds like air trapped in there...LOL....but like I said, the water line is just shy of the motor, so naturally you have air there...

I just found that if I shook it a bit, the noise would go away.... it was the only one of the 9 I had that did this.

Try having someone plug it in for you while you prime it till the last second?

Make sure the ring on the top lid is facing up

Something I found with one of my xp3's is the screw off cap that holds the impeller in wasn't "locking" fully and you could pull it off with your fingers while it was supposed to be locked in. I turned the cap 180 degrees and then re-screwed it down and it locked it down for good. It only happens on one of my xp3's. The other done doesn't matter.

Check to make sure the very first conection between the intake and the extenders fit tightly.

If they are loosened (by moving the xp3 around, or more specifically, the tubing) then air will get inside the intake and cause the water line to drop inside the xp3's.

The best fix is push your intake pieces together tightly, and keep your water line above that first connection point.

Thanks for all the help. I did a little bit of everything mentioned above, works like a charm now.
