It would be easier to list the dwarfs then list the non dwarfs

THESE ARE DWARFS-
-C. compressiceps
-C. notophthalmus
-C. regani
-C. urosema

I think there is more, but you would be hard pressed to find them.

Aye, there are A LOT more...;). Crenicichla wallacii (bugga...i know thats not spelled right) is another dwarf that isn't seen very much. Then you got all the variants within the species depending on location...it gets complicated.

I see what u mean by lots....ok how about most available non-dwarf pikes. i have had the momorata sp before. i want to get back into the pikes.....but the large ones!!!!

a google search should help or go to cichlidforum.com for a complete list

Some of the hotter, relatively easy to find pikes right now are Xingu I (orange pike), marmorata, Tapajos I (flame pike), Tapajos II (cobra pike), cincta (tiger pike) & sp. Venezuela. Granted, they are not common and will cost you a pretty penny but are available if you look around. Other's that are seen here and there that are more difficult to find are lenticulata, Xingu III (emperor pike) & lucustris.

Good luck!

I've kept them before. They have a regani shape with notophthalmus markings minus the spikey dorsal fin. I suspect they are a geographical variant of regani.

The base color on the ones I seen looked very pale(grey- almost white- almost sickly looking), but the fish were plump and healthy. Were yours pale looking?
