I'm in the process of setting up an enclosure for small (vietnamese) wood turtles. This is gonna be a fairly planted space and I've been told to use potting soil as a substrate, but it has to be a type that has no perlite or "white stuff" in general. Googling this I've had a hard time finding a specific brand that would be safe--as in won't impact digestion if eaten. Asked the group of longtime keepers that I'm subscribed to, but haven't gotten a response yet.

Additionally, it would be great if it was soil that won't decompose/run off so easily, as there will be a small amount of running water in the enclosure as well.

Brands or links would be much, much appreciated. Thanks!

I searched that too but I'm still not sure this stuff is safe and "white stuff" free. Unfortunately these things rarely show you a picture of the actual soil.
