Paul here. Just posting a small introduction. I should be posting a couple questions later today when I have more time. I reduced my collection to one tank because I'm tired of having multiples and I want to concentrate on one nice tank (I'll probably set up the 10 gallon I have for a grow-up/quarantine tank, but that doesn't really count). My current tank is a 125-gallon w/ a lone BGK that is about 8" or so. I got rid of the 2 African Cichlids I've had for 4 years or so (I think) and the 2 small FW sharks I had.

I've seen one person on here while lurking that was from Thornton, iirc. Is there anyone else from CO? I work in Denver, but currently live in Berthoud and often go up to Fort Collins. My work brings me to Hot Springs, SD quite often during the hauling season. I work as a hatchery tech (just hold and stock stocker-size rainbow trout) and for fish transport for the CO DOW.

welcome to MFK!

Welcome to MFK, I may be that one from Thornton. There is about a dozen or so of us Colorful Coloradians here on MFK.

yeah, youre the one.

so, what's the best fish store around Denver? specifically, do you know of any that ever carry black aro's and other oddballs? I've only been to the Fish Den once. I'm going to go back there next week probably.

Did much searching last year at this time for my balck aro which I eventually bought at Mike's Killerfish in Denver on Brighton Blvd. Golden fish in Lakewood on W. Colfax had a pair and Mr.Aqua in Dever on Alameda also had a Black. While I was looking these were the only three stores that had a black, this was last year and I have not seen any blacks available yet this year.

thanks 4 the info. if you come across any, let me know. I'll be on the look-out, but I don't go to Denver fish stores very much. What is the smallest size you found last year and what was the price range? I may have to wait till I move and get a bigger tank if I cant' get any small enough. I'd rather wait to have a black than settle on a silver, although I do miss mine.

bump for my question to Bderick :)
