I just cleaned out an old 10 gallon tank and i am thinking about getting into reptiles and amphibians. I like geckos and frogs and i have been doing research. I was just wondering if you guys could give me suggestions on some frogs or geckos i could fit in my 10 gallon:confused:. Preferably a pair of something. This is just to help me know what to research more on. There are so many kinds of reptiles and amphibians out there!:nilly: Thanks for the help in advance.:)

Thanks. I was just looking around the forums and i like the crested geckos or the gargoyle geckos. What size tank would i need for a pair of either one and how easy are they to keep?

i would suggest going outside when it starts to get warmer and trying to catch some stuff around your house. It is a good way to become familiar with a bunch of different herps and you would not need to worry much about heating requirements or other specifications. Skinks are always fun to keep because they are active and colorful. look around for some of those.

well i live in northern Illinois so all i have here are common toads and frogs. Iv had snakes and lizards before so i kinda know what im doing. I was just getting opinions of others. So what would i need tank wise for a pair of geckos?

Ye illnois n ohio dont have many herps besides turtles snakes n frogs n toads

I live in IL, I've seen a few snakes, a few leopard frogs, and a box turtle. I probably relocate 15 toads each summer from my yard to the local creak a mile away.

I wouldn't suggest taking something from the wild especially if you are inexperienced. Mainly because unless they are invasive species they deserve the life in the wild. Why not keep a species that were bred to be kept.

yes i will stick to captive bred reptiles. Iv decided i like the cresties and the gargoyal geckos. Would a 55 gallon tank be able to hold 3 of either kind? Which is easier to keep and breed?
