Idk if this is what I even have I bought a 75gal tank already drilled, withthe pump and has a 29gal underneath with 3 compartments, one where water goes into, falls onto some slanted thing..then other department is empty right now, 3rd department is the pump..anyways what do I need to use to fill it up, what kind of media...and do I put it into 2nd department..the guy I bought it from said to buy a big thick pad at petsmart or something to cut and put on the slanted piece where the water hits to quieten it down if too loud..I'm so lost.... :( sorry I know my description sucks

The pad he suggested would pick up debris that you can rinse out, every couple days. The second chamber is for biological media. Bio balls, or lava rock, or scrubbies from the dollar store. Whatever fits your budget, they get colonized with good bacteria and remain in that chamber. If your pad does a good job filtering out the gunk, they very seldom need attention. You could seed the biological media by putting some gravel from an established tank in the bottom of that 2nd chamber.

Do you know what the pad is called..I have no idea, thank you so much! :)

I would suggest a Google search and select images. Or go to a LFS and look at a sump that is set up.
Anyway, the water will flow out of tank, down to sump, through a mechanical(sponge) or polyfil, through the biomedia(usually bio-balls or scrubbies or bio-bale....etc.) then back to the tank via return pump(usually submerged but sometimes plumbed externally)
Be sure to fill the sump before turning the return pump on.

Gwent to wal mart all the scrubbies say not for aquarium use, so where do y'all get'em from lol thanks
