HEY! Just got my first arowana! He or She is very tiny and not really into the pellets I've been feeding it, does anyone have any suggestions on what to feed when they're young? And how fast do they grow?
Thanks man, i've been breaking them in half and he goes for it but i was'nt sure if that was the best thing for him because i'm hoping to turn him into a monster lol
Keep it on pellets as its main diet and supplement it with crickets, krill, worms, etc.. They're growth rates tend to range between 1.5 to 2.5 inches per month.
about 4-5 inches. hes a silver aro but has a black spot behind his gill area on both sides. I saw some pictures of aros having the same marking i wasnt sure if its from stress or because its young.
The black spot is normal for young silvers. At the size your silver is it would be best to work hard on getting it to eat pellets. Once it is eating well you can add crickets, freeze dried or frozen krill. As it grows there is a large variety of foods that you can feed your aro.
