tried it. water is to cold.

Getting gnawed on by beavers and bitten by water mocassins in order to catch a catfish that might drown you is not my idea of fun.

Noodling isnt very dangerous i have heard.
:screwy:knowdafish a water moccasin wouldnt bite you and it isnt... err... very common for beavers to mistake you for wood:ROFL:

Water moccasins are the most aggro snake Ive EVER come across. They are straight up nasty!

Ive noodled on the Ohio River at the falls, its the only place Id do it cause no turtles, beavers, snakes, or musk rats! Its amazing how just about every hole you stick your hand will hold a fish. You can almost ID them by touch.

The catfish are the easiest, they just sit there and you just slowly walk your hand up there body. If its a good sized one you grab em by the lower jaw, if smaller I just grab them behind the head and hold on! Even the small five pounders will flop out of even the tightest of grips. My biggest has been like an 8lb flattie so nothing special. It is fun and will get your blood pumping for sure.

At the falls Ive noodled not only cats but gar, drum, buffalo, and even a saugar once!
