:nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly:

I just got a call from my fiance, that three of my fish were lying on the bottom of the tank. My GT, and my two Festae. I do not know what has happened, I did a 25% w/c yesterday, added Prime and everyone seemed happy last night. My other three fish are doing fine she said, swimming around and doesn't look stressed, color is still good on them. I don't know what happened to cause this dramatic turn around with the health of the my tank

Two Oscars and a common pleco. I came in and did a test on the water. Nitrates 5ppm, Ammonia barely reading .25ppm, and Nitrites were at .25ppm :nilly::nilly::nilly:where the hell did that come from????? I didn't even clean the filters this time, because it is not within the scheduled time frame that I would rinse the media in tank water.....I am at a loss right now at what has caused this

I'm already doing another water change. Probably do a 50%

.25 to me is only a caution area. But if the fish are showing signs of stress do a water change. What is the age of the tank/ set-up? Some times newer tanks have a few bumps in the road even after they read cycled.

Yeah, that is just the key, this is not a new tank. It has been up and running for over two years now. Rudimentary knowledge in fish keeping is not me, I've been maintaining tanks since 91

What size is the tank?

Also, check your heaters, make sure they are not cracked or anything. Make sure they are not stuck on as well. It probably has nothing to do with it since the other three are fine but it's worth checking.

It is a 150 standard 6 foot footprint.

I do not have any heaters on the tank and the temp is steady at 78

No, there were no significant signs that they were stressed. I fed them a little yesterday, enough that each ate about three massiovore pellets, then about 4 hours later, I did a 25% w/c. All were doing fine last night when the night lights switched on, I sat and watched them for about 5 minutes, then went to bed. I didn't check on them before I left for work, but got the call about 2:30pm from my fiance. These were the fish that I was really wanting to keep for a while as the festae were the last ones that I added about a month or so ago.

Here is a post that I made earlier http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=233334
