NorCal LFS experience so far

So this is my take on the experience in the NorCal LFS's. I haven't lived up here so I can't really say much but after visiting them, 2/6 LFS I would recommend going to. Don't bother wasting time on the other ones. King Aquarium in Little Saigon and Neptune Aquatics are probably the two recommended places to go to. If you want salt water fish, go to Neptune Aquatics. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. That's where the beautiful Aquascapes are. They need to look after the fish a little more because there were some floating dead ones but other than that, nice. King Aquarium like the others MFK'rs have stated is a good one to go to too. They all don't have any Dats so I'm kind of sad about that but other than that, it was a good experience. Please DO NOT go to CD Aquarium because the parking there was so stupid! Vietnamese people are really shady about the parking there so save yourself the headache and don't go there. (Your car might get towed) if you're not going to their business, they will come out and tell you to move it. You have been warned.

Ya I always do research before going to an aquarium store my favorites in sacramento are jojo aquarium they have a large selection of exotic fish they are knowledgable and take good care of the fish, there is also aqua works,aqua life,aquarium depot and maybe exotic aquarium the only good thing about exotic aquarium is they make custom aquariums and have a huge selection of fish but I dont think the quality is the best and the employs are idiots they had a hopilas curupira one time and I asked them what species it was the answer was I dont know.There is hung ming aquarium in san fransisco havent been there yet but they got 3 and a half stars on yelp there is seascapes in mountain view they are the ones selling the 15 year old giant gourami so far my experience there has been great thats where I got my first millipede and they can special order just about anything, seasplendor in fairfield doesnt look great on the outside next to a smoke shop but looks can be deceiving they ate a great aquarium store with lots of knowledge and good quality fish, and theres a few more That are on the tip of my tongue ill find them for you later. But im really pissed off that they keep closing down aquarium stores there used to be alot more of them a few years ago but now they are all closing down and its just getting harder and harder to find some but at least there are still a few good ones but anyways good luck and try visiting the ones I listed you wont be disappointed and as I said before I will try to find some more good ones for you.

I enjoy reading the threads about the different shops in Cali,sounds like there are quite a few interesting places.Sad that those people try to monopolize the parking though.Unless they are in cahoots with certain tow truckers I don't see how they can get a car towed if it is legally parked.
 
CapS: Thanks for the heads up man. Unfortunately today was thee only day I could go to all the ones that another fellow MFK told me about. I was only looking for Dats or maybe something special. Hahaha. Nothing intrigued me so oh well. I'll try to make some time tomorrow but I doubt it. Better luck next time for me.

Yup Krichardson! You should definitely check out those two I mentioned. Really nice shops.

I'll have to keep them in mind for if I ever get out that way.
 
I recommend going to 6th avenue in sf. The fish quality isn't that good but they do have a good variety.
