Are bumblebees supposed to get 9-10 inches?? I bought this one from a store and he is. I have read that they get to be 6 inches or so.

The bumblebee (pseudotropheus crabo) are one of the larger mbuna species and will get up to 8" easy.

They do that :) Gorgeous bad boy you've got there - Hope he has a nice flock of REAL bumblebees (read: yellow/black females!!!)

yea your def right, ive never seen any around here that big thats why i assumed 6 inches which i got off the net, we went to a new lfs for us and boom, huge 7+ inch bumbleebees i was shocked.

if you want to breed them you sould get 1:8 ratios because the males will fight instead of mate

Yeah they get huge for pseudotropheus. I had one that was around 8-9 mark about a year ago. But he jumped out and dried up. I took his female out the night before he jumped out because he was beating her up and she was holding. I put her in a 29g tank and she spit out about 200 fry. They grow like crazy. I am trying to grow out another pair or two. They get a really nice blue color when they are spawning. And they also will turn black when they are mad or scared.

Yeah man. I had a bumblebee and I loved that fish. They did change colors pretty drastically. Sometimes my wife would be like were is the BB and it was just swimming right in front of her.

Except my got sucked into a powerhead........:( .........I turned it up to fast and DONE. I miss that fish....I'd buy a new one except I am selling my cichlid tank.
