I have 2 Black Skirt tetras and 2 White Skirt tetras (all of them I’ve had since around the time I started keeping fish; 2-3 years ago; and one of the White Skirts is a Glo version that I got a few months ago.) as well as a mystery tetra that I’ve had for over five months. The OG three I had in a 10 gallon before I knew better and a year in the had their gills like this. I move them to the 55 and it’s was that same and my two new additions had them. Couldn’t quite tell if it was like that but I think they do.

It’s hard to really make anything out in the pictures. Could you take some clearer shots?
Nothing seems off about them.
Btw - if you post a pic of the mystery tetra someone on here could probably ID it.

Ok. They’re super fast so it’s challenging to get a good photo of them

What I usually do is plant the camera in a stationary spot and wait for the fish to come by. You can usually catch them still with that and not have to worry about chasing them with your phone.
