Hey everyone, just finished installing the AC 70 and checked the water params.

After a week of cycling it seems that all I have is .25 ppm of ammonia. Is that normal, or should there be more?

Info:
55 Gallons
AC 70, Fluval 204
Amazon Sword, Java Fern, Anubias Nana
6 Danio's
PFS
treating tank with Seachem Stability, Used Prime once (No need since then), and used neutral regulator (But I guess it hasn't really worked since my pH is still around 7.5ish)

Thanks!

Not a fan of cycling with fish, but given your very small bio load you won't get huge numbers.

You also need to trend it over time. You'll see ammonia go up and peak, and then nitrites go up while ammonia goes down, and then nitrites go down. Timing is about 3-8 weeks depending on what filtration you have and how much fuel is given. So it's possible your low ammonia is on the upward path and could get very toxic soon, or maybe it's going down and nitrites will start coming. Need more data.

I've tested everyday this week. And it has never gone over .25 ppm (hit that about 3 days ago). I understand how cycling works, I'm just unfamiliar with the timeline other than it takes 3+ weeks.

I say your about 65% the way there. There is ammonia consuming bacteria and nitrite consuming bacteria but now they just need a tad bit more time to build a strong self sustaining colony.
