Anyone have any success? My planted tank grows out of control and they will appear to court but never any egg. I want an army, think 200 or 300 in a large tank but too expensive to buy.
Going to need a way to prevent them from eating the eggs and fry...Need slightly acidic water and if they are anything like neons then the water hardness *must* be below 4 otherwise none of the fry will survive. Just my 2c based on what I have read about lampeyes and neon tetras.
Easy to breed killifish. Lay eggs in floating plants or you can use a floating spawning mop. If the tank is heavily planted the fry will survive with parents. If not remove the eggs and hatch in another tank. Fry are tiny. Start them out on microworms or finely powdered food.
