Northern Pike & Wels Catfish

Is this a combinationt hat could work short term? obviously I am well aware that the Wels will outgrow the pike in not too long. basically I have the opportunity to buy a 15" Wels Catfish fairly cheap and I already have a 15" Northern Pike that is up for sale... just wondering if it would work whilst Iw as trying to sell up the pike?

I have a 700 gallon indoor pond.

Well, i think that the wels will more then likely try to eat the Pike. If there is alot of swim room for the pike maybe it will be okay but i assume it will probably move around slow and be a target for the catfish.

Go for it, i'm planing do the same with the same space available, but i have the wels and i just try to find some pikes.
Try not to overfeed the catfish so he'll not outgrow the pike easy.

Will a full grown Wels even be able to turn around in a 700g?

I agree. No disrespect to the OP but a 700 is hardly suitable for a Wels or Wels type catfish for very long.

thanks for the info, the 700 gallon is just a ghetto pond I have set up at the moment but will be at least doublign this in the very near future... I am aware of the speed the Wels can grow haha

Personally I wouldn't get a wels catfish yet till you have a pond already built.
