hi

has any one ever tried keeping northern pike or any British native

thanks

Northern Pike are difficult to keep, and require a very deep tank for turnaround space. Also, they tend to sit in the water column motionless, making them somewhat uninteresting, even if they are a beautiful fish.

I disagree, my lfs had one. it was awesome, yea it did sit still alot but as soon as it knew there was food in thetank it would not stop hunting till it ate all of it. was great to watch...
after it got too big to turn properly in the tank they put it back where it came from though...

That is terrible that they released the fish. Totally irresponsible, an lfs should know better.

why is a big deal if they released the fish if they caught the fish from a river then released it into the same river it came from ?

The fish could have picked up foreign parasites or diseases from the lfs tanks. It's illegal to release a captive fish into the wild, even if it goes into the same body of water it came from.

you guys are so uptight

It's for good reasons. It's one of the reason why you see so many foreign fish diseases in lakes.

Many people love to fish, so respect nature.

Many people love the hobby, so respect the fish.
