I noticed a few days ago that my prized female Trombeta Marm was acting
kinda funny so I kept an eye on her. Yesterday morning I noticed her hiding
in the top corner of the 125 with white string poo hanging out of her anus.
The first thing that comes to mind is Internal Parasites. OK, I pull her out
and put her in a 10 gallon quarantine tank. Treat with a heavy dose of
Metronidazole and 1 tbsp of Epson Salt. Turn off light and cover with a
towel to reduce any stress. Came home last night, checked her and everything OK.
This morning I wake up to check her and the first thing I see when I come
downstairs is a food container laying on floor by her tank. I knew something
was up. I run over and pull towel and no Marm in tank. She jumped ship.
I frantically look around and can't find her. So by chance I look in the trash
can that is close to this tank and wa lah. There she is. No w I am figuring
she is already dried up. I pick her up and no movement. Then I see a gill
move so I hurry up and put her back in the tank and work her back and
forth to get good flow over her gills and she starts breathing harder.
She is currently laying on her side breathing heavily.
I don't know if she is going to make it.
But we will see.
