my oscar and my ropefish arent getting along and its been like an hour of having my ropefish in the tank. ive had one before and they were fine together. my oscar bit the ropefish once and doesnt seem to be bothering it right now but he keeps swimming over there to check it out. i hope it gets better =/ any tips?

oscar like 5 in ropefish like 8 in minimum. thats what i was thinking too but the ropefish seems too big to look like that to me

Ropefish and oscar are a bad combo IMO. Too many times, expecually as the oscar gets larger the ropefish becomes dinner, if it makes it till then and isn't' harassed to death first.

if it has alot of hiding places and driftwood is it alright to have them together?

i have a ropefish with my oscars, they pretty much ignore the rope fish wich most of the time is chilling in a small rock outcrop at the bottom, i thick as long as the ropefish has a place to get out of the way they should be fine

Hiding places bud'. Break up the line of sight between the two.

Not saying that's a concrete, long term solution. But, Cicilids sometimes need a cooling down period then new fish are introduced, they sometimes lay off after the fish has in their eyes become a "part" of the (their) environment.

sorry guys ive already taken him back like a week ago! i didnt like that idea of him having to hide all the time, but thanks for the suggestions!
