I have what I believe to be a female Amph. Xil (to me looks and behaves like a RD) and a Male Trimac theyve preparing their "nest" and appears that they will breed. I'm not a hybrid person but I think the resulting fry would look pretty sweet.

My Male Trimac has excellent markings and the Xil. is creamy color with faint white bars. So what do you all think? Was going to show a vid. it won't let me copy it on here. Here are some pics though:

I'm interested in seeing what the fry look like...also awesome that you've got a tankmate-friendly trimac.

I'm not a hybrid person either...

and when I get random mixes I use the offspring as food for other fish...

While the offspring may look cool... When I look at it from a 'big picture' perspective... I'm not a hybrid person and the reasons that I'm not a hybrid person are the reasons why I wouldnt keep any of the offspring...

I guess you have to ask yourself why you are not a hybrid person and if having possibly "cool looking" hybrids is reason enough to change your mind...

Yeah I agree I will keep one and only and put it a 75 gallon tank after that I will setup my 30 gallon put a mid sized predator and use them as feeders. DW no way I am going to give these future hybrids to anyone or any store to get out there.

Quick update thought the 240 gallon was a little too much so I sold it and now they are all in a 55 gallon-will post pics soon!
