when my 540 arrives that will be my new cichlid tank. my delema is ill have a empty 220. now what im prob gonna do is make a large semi aggressive tank (aro, knife) things of the like. now in a few stores i have seen vampire tetra. i know they get big, and ive been reading a bit and know they are only semi aggressive(dispite huge teeth) but that they unknowingly die at about 12" anyone know about these fish or have any first hand experience? id like to get one but im not good at losing fish. i would hate to have a fish for a year then have it die out of no where. any info would help.

same here i heard they die around the 1 foot range with unknown cause. and its a fast grower. prolly liek 2 inches in a month.

Not an aquarium fish steer clear....
why u say that it what where here for isnt it or did i not get the memo i say get it if u are perparing to take care of it and know there might be a long term comitment im geting one once i get a bigger tank. go for it if u truly want one.

From what I have read the main problem with them is that they require strong current and high O2 levels as they get bigger.

what did you just say?! proof read your stuff please. i dont think a strong current or o2 to be a prob. i have a fairly good filter i built myself. has anyone ever actully kept one of these fish though?
