so.. not too long ago maybe like 2-3 weeks ago my red oscar died of internal parasites i believe u noe the long skinny see thru poo and i put medication in my tank for a week to kill the parasites. everyone was fine so far untill today my gt didnt want to eat in the morning and has the stringy poo i was so dissapointed... like an hour ago i fed him peas and ate them like a champ so thats good. but im going to my lfs tomoro and hopefully find some medicine to cure him. DO U GUYS THINK THAT THERES A CHANCE HE WILL MAKE IT????? :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I have never lost a fish from a parasite alone. Any fish that I have lost that had a parasite was from the fish being to weak and not eating then contracting fungus from the stress.

So as long as the fish is eating then he should pull thru just fine as long as the problem is medicated and properly treated.

If the fish is still eating, medicate the food and feed the fish. And do alot of water changes to remove any parasite remains that have pasted thru. Also the addition of salt helps with stress.

Also watch the tanks parameters as some medications can kill the bio filter as well.

What is usually their menu? Start making gel food recipes and include praziquantel, garlic (Kent's liquid garlic) and vitamins in it. This should help them battle internal parasites.
