i have a pleco what im assuming is a common one. hes a little guy 3-4 inches and he just hides under the filter always in a corner and never comes out during the day. i don't know what he does at night. BUT i been trying to feed him fruits and veggies of all sorts and its like he has no interest. doesn't investigate or anything just sits in his corner. what should i do?

do you put the food in for it and turn the lights off? they feed better at night. at least i know my commons do (22" & 29").

yea i do and still hes uninterested but when i had neon tetras all 10 of them were gone in a matter of 2 days! haha wow your plecos are 22" & 29"? what size tank do you have? and how long have you had them?

Plecos. not coming out during the daylight hours is normal. Like Kyle said try feeding at night and keep trying diff. foods until you find something it likes.

after a while they will figure it out. my guys will suspend in the middle of the tank and eat floating pellets if they are feeling like the pellets at the time. they will also eat anytime. just be patient they will eat. smaller plecos don't eat as often if i am not mistaken, they only need to eat a few times a week if that. my big boy i have had for 5-6 years. and the other was given to me about a year ago because it was getting to large and aggressive.
