hi ive been on the forum researching a lot of what i want to know. one thing i'm concerned about is that my new Australian Arowana isnt eating. i got him about 6 days ago. Ive put in pellets which he looks at and swims away, frozen blood worms where he has nipped at then rejected, and small dried krill from petco which he has also spit out. Just wanted to know how long can he last without food. some people on here say have said they had to wait two week before it began getting comfortable and eating.

Depends on how big he is. They can last a while without eating, though.

When moving arowanas, they usually "pout" and won't eat for a while. Just give it time, eventually it'll start eating.

he is only about 2-2.5 inches long=[. is it possible for them to completely starve themselves through their own will?

takes about a weeks or so i have had 1 cracked in 4 days but i have had a 10inch bbxb took about a week and half.If u are really concerned get some super worms cut them in half since he is 2 inches if it goes in his mouth he will eat that its crack for them.but sooner or later theey call crack to food.

It took my silver aro about a week to finally start eating... She would just go up to the food and then just swim away... The guy at the lfs said where she came from they had her on goldfish... I was not happy with that and tried pellets, krill, rosies, and then finally goldfish... She devoured the goldfish, and that brought be back in to eating regularly... After that I fed her pellets cause thats what I wanted her on, she didnt like them too much and never ate them, and then just one day she started chowing down on them... So now she eats a good mixture of krill and hikari pellets... It just takes time....

If it it it's taking it in and spitting out, your nearly there. Keep it up and eventually it will eat them. The blood worms are good for the little aros.

what is the temps yoi have her in?
