According to many in the forum, frozen blood worms are a sure thing with baby Dats.

Not so with my baby Indos, which have been raised on live feeders in the LFS, and refuse anything else.

They are little guys, 1~2 inches, and i don't want to stunt their growth by starving them. What should i do????

Please help.

hi Teohha, I think it's best to feed them small shrimp (about 0.3-0.5 inches).
Ps: This's super worm, ~ 2inches, it contains proteins, lipids, and vitamins. in Vietnam, it is the best food for arowana and Dats but only Dats ~ 6-7inches

Try some live brine shrimp or black worms. That's what I started with. Mine will now eat FD blood worms and FD brine shrimp. Even my 4" silver that was only fed rosy reds at the LFS switched over in 2 days.
I can't get them to take meal worms.

One of my little Micros is starting to eat small pieces of FD krill, which is the main staple of a 5" Indo I have in another tank. The 5" Indo will also eat market shrimp pieces and liver. Won't touch a pellet though, but I haven't starved him yet.

I believe it helps to have the Dats in with other good eaters so they see the food is ok to eat. They get caught up in the feeding frenzy and start eating.
