Can you think of any fish that should NOT be kept in the hobby? I am thinking along the lines of fish that just get too large for most home aquaria, such as the infamous Pangasius sutchi, aka, the ID Cat or ID Shark. Can anyone here adequately house a schooling fish that gets as long as a human male?

I can think of tons....ripsaw catfish, channel catfish, peacock bass, emporer cichlids, redtail catfish, pacus, tiger shovelnose, arapaima, ID sharks etc. Some people are capable of houseing some of them but not most.

If you have the money and the dedication you can keep damn near anything.

Thats true, I've seen this extremely large..house on tv (the travel channel) and they had this huge mother effin saltwater tank..... wow... I mean these people had money and this tank looked like it belonged in seaworld I never knew anyone person actually had a tank that large... I wonder how much they pay the guy that cleans the thing..

Yes, but how many people really -can- house these fish?

Yep, this subject, like politics, is one in which people WILL disagree.

Goldfish, Gigas, RTC, and 85% of pet smart/co's stock. Including pacu's!!! I sometimes ask about even the common fish. Common BN pleco's and goldfish living 15-20 years. Anyone know of someone that has had one that long?
