Not motivated...at all

Hey guys,

I spent about 2k to take 2 online classes over the summer. I am totally not motivated to do the work. At all. I don't want to already start falling behind, and I really REALLY don't want my GPA to drop. For my GPA not to drop, I need at least a B in both classes. (I have a 3.0). These classes enable me to graduate in a year. Any suggestions on how to motivate myself to do the work?

hey rmorse, think of it this way. you finish school earlier. you are taking the classes online so doesnt that mean you can sit there at the comp in your underwear? doesnt it also mean you can log on and do the class at any time during the day and home work is due by the end of the summer when class is done? i would pick a time of the day when you are at your mose alertness and do the class then.

whenever I lose motivation, I think about it like this...This is only a few months of my life. I study hard now, It pays itself off in years!

Is there anything that helps you work? Like listening to music while working? Possibly think about graduating and making more $$(hopefully) than you do now and all the stuff you want to buy? lol

2 thousand? I only paid $50 dollars each so $150. What kind of classes are these?

I did it two years ago for a semester and found it almost near to impossible to stay caught up.

Haha, yea. I mean, it is kinda cool to be doing the crap on my laptop, sitting on my couch. Thats kinda pimp...

I do online school as well. just think of a date when you have to get it done by and start working. Oh yeah and dont get on MFK when youre supposed to be working. (prime example)

Thats one of my biggest problems. I totally start surfing MFK, then I go do a water change.

True. I am an Economics major, so hopefully it will bring me some bank.

Um, I can have really bad A.D.D. Listening to music or watching tv makes me focus more on that, unfortunately.

The are upper level Business classes from the University of Maryland.

Try and look at it if you were my age or older like 33 or so.To take classes now for me is not just wanting to pass the class and get the grade.You now have some real work and life experience and what you want is to learn and retain what your doing.Anyone can pull the grade but employers want the guy who really wanted the knowledge.You will stand above the other employees and that sets you up for higher positions.So I say,make your goal to later down the line be one of the best at what you get into.Know that you want to be the Dr House and not the nurse nd right now is your time to grow into that person youll be someday.Trust me man,with all the ppl out their that cant find jobs,you will have some real power if you nerd up now and refocus with more care and love for what your after.Ill tell you right now,ask older ppl if they wish they did school,most say yes,I still am but Im a newb.Know that later when you land that job,you will be around others that did what you did and they may chalange your knowledge,you dont want to be fighting for positions.Focus luke,use the force,its not your only hope but its all I got,good luck man.
