Not quiet sure of the name (seyradontis catfish)?

Today i was at petsmart and they had the catfish in the back room and asked me if i wanted it..well i took it and the lady said "the person brought it back becuse it has eaten $50 worth of her fish already" right now he's like 6-8" i'm not sure what to feed him and he's in a 20long right now the tempiture is 76F is this a monster on my hands? thanks for the help

Alright, well we can't help you out without any telling characteristic of the fish. Pic would be best, detailed description we could help ya out a bit...
 
Ok the name of him is synodontis he looks like this

Definitely Synodontis eupterus. No doubt about it. Please make sure you have a very large tank. This fish grows to 8-9 inches and is quite boisterous. Make sure its tankmates will tolerate it long enough to avoid it harassing them.
 
Agree on the eupterus id. I have one in my african tank. Nice fish, will bully others out of hiding spots unless its much larger or dominate (my dom male frontosa is the only one it can't move) Id love to know what kind of fish the woman had that it ate $50 worth... would have to be something really small...so to ad up to $50 it would have had to eat ALOT of them
 
Synodontis euptera. the lady must have had small fish and lots of them for him to eat $50 worth of fish his mouth is not that big.
