The air conditioning is down in my place, and it's 90 outside. My snowman might melt...Seriously, my native tank is not doing so well as half my darters died, and my native plants are toast. Tank temps are reaching 82 deg F. Not to worried about the native fish and plants, I can always get more for free, and my bluegill is doing fine, but damn, the dead plants made a mess, as well as the red slime of algae building up. I wish they made a chiller for 10 gal setups. I do have steak cooking on the counter if anyone wants some.

I take it you've already started freezing 3/4 full 16 and 20 oz soda/water bottles with water so you can float them in your tank to cut the heat a bit?

Thats a good idea, although I don't have any bottles to use. I will start pounding dew now!

Dropped some cubes and conditioner in my tanks, no help. I am chilling a bottle now. Thanks for the idea.

I feel your pain. I'm seeing the same thing at Como. When I went in after UA today, the big pool was pushing 86F and climbing. If you have extra bottles, bring them by tomorrow

Start freezing gas cans full of water! LOL

I hope that you can save the tank! It's been regularly hitting 100+ here and I lost a little fish already ,I came home and I had some stew cooking in my mini-tank, I work outside too and it seems like every year gets hotter, I wonder if there really is something to that global warming after all? Hope everything works out with the fish cooling,
