Hi everyone,
Matthew, aka Matt, here from Raceland, Louisiana. I'm not really new to the site, but here's my introduction post.
I joined sometime last year I think, probably after watching River Monsters and furthering my interests in fish and all things aquatic. I cared for a display aquarium for a semester or two in college 5 or 6 years ago, and the only reason I stopped was because I left for a semester to complete an internship. We had a few catfish, a spotted gar, two Red Eared Slider turtles, and a few other fish in it. We also kept frogs and a Three toed Amphiuma in another aquarium just up the hallway. I had had some experience with an aquarium at home before, but this volunteer duty was probably when the fish/aquarium bug really bit me for the first time.
Since then I haven't had an aquarium, but I did start up a pond project of sorts. It's an old sugar kettle (filled with rain water) in the yard that I started putting minnows in to eat mosquito larvae. From there I added Comets, and most recently two Red Eared Sliders. I don't have any filtration set up yet. Anyway, more about all of that in another thread.
Best regards,
Matt
