So, I used to house my syno with my yellow lab. They each had their own caves, and the syno was still small, so they didn't pay the other much mind.

Well, he's at about 4.5, with an intimidating top fin about as long as his body lol. I tried to move him from my loach tank to my cichlid tank today, and boy did tempers flare!

The other fish paid him no mind, but he and the yellow lab scrappled in a cat fight [hah, get it it because he's a cat fish?, okay so it was that funny]

But, I immediately tried removing him, even in the net he swam after him. I guess there must have been some sort of quarrel between the two I never saw, lol because they seemed to remember one another, and the other fish ignored it.

They've never done that before. Crazy fish...

I'm assuming it was a matter of dominance, as they are of similar size now, but still they've never been that aggressive towards new fish in their tanks before

funny thing is, as soon as i dropped him in, he resumed the spot where my pleco always hangs out, and the pleco politely swam to another spot. either way, I put him back in him own tank. big yellow jerk

I had 2 different Synos (5" & 7") that I just found a home for. Both were incredibly aggressive with Cichlids/other fish but for some reason liked each other.
I'd have never guessed those cats were that ornery.

I have a small Syno right now...hopefully it won't be that much of a bastard when it gets bigger.

thingis, i think he's used to be the top dog, the syno usually stays with 4 hatchet fish, my dojo loaches and kuhlis, so no one messes with him, and he doesn't bother anyone,

must have been that both fish are used to being the biggest fish in their tanks, and when they met it seemed like an immediate threat i suppose
