But I have no clue what this guy is...sorry for the crappy camera phone pic, but could someone id the fish with the red eye? Saw it at the LFS and it was labeled as a "Devil's Eye"...they had no other info.

Hahaha! You were at Exotic Life weren't you? I was there with a friend yesterday and was wondering myself what they might be. They kinda look like Dats to me.

Yep, was at Exotic Life...they've been getting in some cool stuff since the remodel huh?

Edit: and definitely looks perch-like to me.

They definitely have some bad@$$ stuff there. It's a bit pricey though.

They are caquetaia myersi. They are very rare especially the F0s. They are wild and they came as contaminants. I got myself some too. Get as many as you can. You probably won't see them ever again.

Yup, they are nice fishes. I would get some if I could find them. They remind me of sunfish in the way they act.

How aggressive are they? So far, there doesn't seem to be much on them. The only thing I can find is that they grow to about 8"

They are not overly aggressive. They do reach a size of 10 to 12". They need very clean water just like other caquetaia species. Mine pretty much eat everything.
