Last year I looked into picking a blue dempsey, but heard they were prone to diseases and short lifespans. this still an issue? anyone had one for any length of time yet? love to hear some experiences (and see some pics :) )

sometimes when a hybridizing occurs its like it can decrese tha genetical stability of certain things so basically sometimes they lose immune system immunity and otha things like basically they can be real weak...

i think thats b/s ive never heard that b4 and JD's were the frist ciclides ive ever kept and i still have my first 2 so i think i would know aobut them

there not hybrids there natarual but rare to get blue dempseys u ahve to breed a blue with a reg and bout half the fry will be blue its vary vary vary rare to get a blue from to regs

I know they aint a hybrid yo...i was statin in general...a blue dempsey is a dempsey and only a dempsy..jus look betta..

well they both pretty tight...but a blue dempsey has some really nice fins like a flowerhorn when they are flowing like that...but the regular ones are straight thug...

I have a nice blue dempsey .He has no problems. He's about 1year old. They are really blue because they use hormones to super en hance the blue color already present in them
