I have noticed about a week ago that my silver aro, stopped eating. Not normal for him he's a huge eater. a few days later he started swimming like the video above. Last night he finally called it quits. i have had him about 6 months. i know that water quality did not play a roll as this tank is on a heavy drip, plus there is more delicate fish in the tank that show no signs of illness.

He did not show any torn fins or anything. His tank mates are 5 rays and 2 florida gar 15-16" & 1 it dat 7".

any idea what may have caused this death?

What was he eating? Any chance their may have been some spoiled food or anything?

he eats pellets and smelt mostly. Anything he ate would be the same food the others in the tank eat too..

I was wondering if some sort of swim bladder issue. Maybe he tried to jump and hit the lid?

About a month or 2 ago i was going to bed and heard a splash, he had jumped and flopped on the lid of the tank for about 10 seconds then i caught him and put him back in the tank. he ate fine for several weeks afterward.

i have seen them do that same thing just after hitting the lid in the wrong way...kinda like brain damage...although normaly you can see some impact damage, unless it hit the lid just right or wrong how ever you want to see it as inorder for the damage to be just inturnal...

when is the last water change u make before it death?

he said it was in a tank with a heavy drip witch means there is a constant flow of clean water in and old water out...no actual water change is done all at once, but over a few days to a week...
