I'm not sure what kind of fish I have, I thought it was a red devil, but I'm not so sure now. I'm also wondering which one is meaner, Midas, or Red Devil. It's about seven inches long or so, should the hump be out, and if so, does this mean I have a female. Thanks... ps I am looking to get a large male, one with good color and that is very aggressive, I'm wanting to have a tank thats just for him, so if anyone knows where I can get one, it would be great if you could send me a private message. Thanks again.

Where did you purchase.. ?

Do you know about how long until I can tell for certain. My plan is to have only the one fish in there, just one mean male. I guess a pair would be cool, but seems like a lot of trial and error as far as finding two that are not going to kill each other.

The finnage on it is just wonderful. Im saying its a male. Obviously by the tail and nuchal bump. Red Devils and Midas are a species of fish with names commonly swapped between them. Looks more red Devil to me, but stereo typically, they have the same aggression, and are pretty much the same fish.

i reminds me of my old midas.. it looks exactly like yours and mine turned out to be a male... GL with ur fish
