Well can someone identify this. Because it is behind the body spines, its hard for me to tell whether this is on skin level or above. Either way, something i haven't encountered, but sure someone has or at least knows. As pictures speak a thousand words, just below the dorsal.

Only noticed it today, and if its a problem what can i do to solve? Really wouldn't like to lose this female.
Cheers

It appears to be a body fungus, possibly on a scrape, it might also be just a scrape. Binox or Maroxy can both be used with cats and work well with true funguses (and also masny bacteria). You could wait to see if it starts producing slime at the discolored site, or starts to spread before treating as if it is just a scrape and is a healthy fish they often heal on their own, otherwise go ahead and treat with one of those. Both are tolerated well by even sensitive fish.

Hey guppy i was going to wait one night, and it must have been a scrape of sorts, which i wasn't sure just because of its hard to get a look as they are extremely shy and very wary of me, even if i am coaxing them out with food. But today, it was completely gone, as picture shows. Thanks for your help though, i'll keep in my mind about those meds, if i see any i might get some for backup anyway.

Cool, a scrape on an armored cat like plecos often looks like a mild case of body fungus.
