Seems to be a rare find, cause google had no luck finding any pics. For me at least.

Yep, only PlanetCatfish.com has complete reference about this fish. But I am also looking for another keeper who ever keep this fish and share they experience.

False Giraffe catfish? Only thing i know is that they are supposed to max around 10-11"

Yes it is false Giraffe catfish or labelled as Dwarf Giraffe in my country.
Max size around 10-11", but never found any article about they behavior

When I kept them they were named Parauchenoglanis macrostoma. Mine grew to about 9". They were most active in the early and late parts of the day. Mine had a habit of positioning themselves in overhangs and tunnels that received alot of current. In those positions they'd pluck anything edible from the current stream. When I noted this habit I placed ghost knife clear tubes at the front of the tank so they could 'hide' while still allowing me to observe them easily.

Hi Oddball, very helpful information, thank you.
I am completely blind about african biotope, please if you don't mind to post your tank setup or any pics about this little guy.

I have pics on photo paper. I kept these guys back in the early 80s. Sorry, no digital media then.

Substrate was St. John's River fine pebble (smallest gravel before calling it sand). CA beach driftwood (large pieces with holes/caves/tunnels). 4 powerhead run lift-tubes on a full-bottom UGF system. Plants were java fern and lg onion plants. Standard flourescent lighting. 78-80F. 360gal mixed tang. tank.

Wow, early 80's.
Thanks for the explanation, now I know what to do
