Notopterus notopterus

Hey,
I just want to share another inhabitant of my 6.5ft tank with you:
This is my Notopterus notopterus which settled in quite well and is doing fantastic.
It will grow to about 1ft which makes it a perfect tankmate for my bichirs (which will eat/damage smaller species like Xenomystus or thinner species like Apteronotus).
It is semi-aggressive and could be considered a little "annoying"

Nice underappreciated knife fish.

Always looking to get some of these fish when available.

a little off topic but is the afer knife a type of featherback? I know they have an identical dorsal fin to the knife above

yes P.afer belongs to the Notopteridae.
