I've bred a lot of fish over the years, but nothing has gotten me this excited since my heckels had eggs hatch. Ken
I just noticed the spawn a little while ago when I turned out the lights, have to work 12 hour days until Sunday, by then I should have wigglers. Ken
Congrats Ken. I haven't heard of anyone spawning these guys in a tank. I'm sure some people have but it must be really rare.
I started with 9, 3" fish three years ago, they did fine until they got about 8 inches and then the largest male wacked 7 of the others in one day, I divided the remainig two fish a year ago and today I have eggs, just lucky he did not kill her too, which he will if he knocks the divider down, They are now about 12 inches. Everything I've read claimed these fish get 8-10". Just shows how few adults of some of these fish are out there. Reagan also had a Rostratus that was close to that size and all the info on them says they are slow growing and won't get that big.
More CA sifters on the market would definately be a good thing.

I have one show nourisetti is over 13 inch, I may bring him to the show, and his roomate rostratus is the same size , they both wild caught!

And there you have it, verfication that both do indeed get huge
. I've also read that 8-10 is max for Robertsoni's as well. Any one with a robertsoni over 12" while we are at it?
