I purchased a Currnet Nova extreme pro on thurs 3/17/11 and set it up on my 55sw tank, everything worked great till saturday night when the moonlights stopped working, its plugged into a coralife digital timer i tried switching outlets and that didnt work. Has anyone had this issue before? is this a common thing with these lights? I would like to fix this myself if its an easy fix.

I've never used these light but is there a ballast/relay/fuse for these lights? Usually they don't all go off at one...

Its not uncommon for the leds to go out on these fixtures and fixtures like them. If it was new, I would take it back or contact current about it.

I have a current 4x54w t5 fixture and the moonlights havent worked for years. Without actually opening it up, I couldnt tell you how they do it. But chances are, they use a wall-wart for the power supply with a resistor and no regulator.

Current is super good about customer service, repairs, and replacement. I have worked with them on several occasions.

I got in contact with there customer service dept and a few rounds of e-mail tag and they are sending me a new transformer for the leds i just have to hard wire them in which is no big deal. Great customer service.:headbang2

I just wonder why the transformer fail after only 3 nights of use, the fixture has been just sitting at the store sealed in original packaging. Maybe i just got lucky or unlucky i guess lol.

Thanks for the replys.

Agreed to the above. I also hate to say it but their LED's are not built to last. I think its basically something that gets nailed in there.
