Oddball, or anyone else - I'd love to see a list of what fish can not be kept in Nova Scotia.

Thanks

Sorry to be nosey... But why? Are you moving there?

Hey Rob - I don't know if you have been following my plant threads, but yes - I am moving there in fact.

I don't think Canada as a whole have any restriction on fish except for natives. However I know NS is rocking the boat with the herpers now...

The Bloody - how so? And I notice that Ontario has a long list of restricted species (Maybe not long, but...) so I wondered about NS.

Anybody? I tried google, but no luck.

I think most of Ontario's restricted species are native and invasive species provinically. When you get into manipuical it is a completely different ballgame. If you live in the countryside, Ontario is probably the most lax province in Canada when it come to exotics.

Just last weekend NS had a council meeting on which snakes and lizards to ban. Fortunately, the herpers managed to compromise with some of the guideline like no snake over 3m and lizards over 2m along with the grandfather clause. It is not official yet.

I will see if there are any non-native species that can't be kept in NS though.

Thanks ! This is all interesting! I am moving to Nova Scotia, so it would be helpful to know what FISH are not permitted in Nova Scotia. (Non native, of course.) Thanks!

Santoury, I wasn't sure which statement you were asking about.

There don't seem to be any provincal restriction in NS on fish as far I can see. It might be different when it come to municipal level.

Does this mean I have free rein in NS? I'd love to have this confirmed :)
