Now I see why people say Royals are so hard to keep..

Last night I noticed my Royal had what looked like Velvet all over it's body. He was acting odd which was the first clue soemthing was up. I had just added PFS to the tank so didn't think much of the behavior until I got a good look at him. and still wasn't sure if it was just PFS particals or what... but decided to play it safe anyways and did a 30% WC on the tank and a 1/2 dos of melafix. Well woke up this Am to him belly-up =(

RIP lil' buddy. Had him about 2 yrs and he was 5.5inches.

The only difficulty with royals is the waste they produce, other than that they are just as hardy as any other pleco. I hope you aren't deterred in the future.

sorry for your loss bud ive had stacks of royals infact ive got 4 right now x3 L190 and 1 L191, just to say that ive lost 2 when they were small very suddenly, went to bed and they were fine, next morning gonners i never understood how or why they died.
