Now Nic grew Nuchal hump

Not sure what is going on with these guys. She let him back into her nest.

They seem to ignore the fry.They still have about 20 fry, but seem to be going through breeding rituals.

Does it seem like this is what the male is doing? He grew a nuchal hump overnight. Does not appear to be an injury. His head sort of looks squared off like a Gymno now LOL.

I have no idea but I love your male. How big are the fry? Maybe they have decided the fry are large enough to fend for themselves and are beginning to spawn again.

Fry are less than 3 weeks. This pair did wonderful with fry in the community tank when there was competition. I think the lack of predators may have made them lazy or less interested.

Nice fish bill. But if I am not mistaken, don't gymnos produce a nuchal hump when trying to breed with a mate? It then goes away when breeding is done.

Petsmart has a $1 sale this weekend so I added 10 Buenos Aires Tetras today.

Will see if they show more attention to the fry.

Good luck with the BA tetras. They are pretty tough on one another. I did the same this as you last time Petsmart had their $1 sale. They have some sort of pecking order and the more aggressive ones took out the others one by one. I got them about 9 months ago and now have 3 left in my 180G.
