Hmmm that's odd. That looks like a white sturgeon.I think they are only found of the Pacific Northwest USA and South West Canada. Unless maybe they stocked them over there in Ontario but a sturgeon that size would be a really old fish.

An 11 ft. sturgeon with a realistically estimated weight of 750-800 lbs., landed by our guest Asger Michaelsen from Denmark after almost 3 hours of fight. Needless to say, that this is one of the largest sturgeon ever caught and carefully released in the Fraser River. Fraser River Lodge Brent Wilker's first sturgeon
This is a Sturgeon caught in April of this year in B.C on the Fraser River. It took 1 1/2 hours to land and it was 8' 6'' long, a fat one too! - Nicky.
8 ft sturgeon is going to be giving us both a bath in about a second ! hooked and landed in lovely little spot on the fraser.
